Ann Derrick and Brendan Burrows created and opened the
gallery in 2001. It is a culmination of Ann's personal passion for antique
art, her long time collection of natural history illustrations, and her
background in art history and in the art business in the Detroit area.
The building which houses the gallery also created a small sensation in
Glen Arbor when it was erected. It is built around three red pine trees
which grow out through the roof. Designed and built by Brendan it is a
beautiful space with a wonderful light and airy cottage feel
The gallery began with botanical
prints as the main emphasis. This theme has been extended to include
birds
butterflies
bugs, especially when shown against their natural habitat
design illustrations
garden plans
fabulous antique food prints
Japanese Woodblocks
All works in the gallery are
original antiques, not reproductions. These pieces are rare and are
becoming even more scarce over time.
